The following awards are available at the conference:
Antoinette Kotze Award
Oral presentation
The presentation is the person’s FIRST presentation at ANY conference
No age limit
ASSA Award – Best Young Presenter
Oral presentation
The presenter is 35 years or younger
The presenter has not won the same award in the preceding conference (unless there are no other qualifying presentations)
Hanno Boon Award
Oral presentation
The presentation must be on some aspect of medical education (research or descriptive of current practice)
No age limit
The presenter has not won the same award in the preceding conference (unless there are no other qualifying presentations)
S.V. Naidoo Award
Poster presentation
No age limit
The presenter has not won the same award in the preceding conference (unless there are no other qualifying presentations)
Technical Award
The presentation must be on a technical aspect relating to anatomy
The presenter must be employed in a technical post
No age limit
The presenter has not won the same award in the preceding conference (unless there are no other qualifying presentations)
Willie Vorster Award
Poster presentation
First time presenter at any conference
Presenter needs to be first author (PI)
Rules
No single person will be considered for more than one award at any particular conference
If the presenter fits into more than one category (for example under 35 AND 1st time presenter) then the presenter must choose for which award they wish to be evaluated
If no qualifying presentations are given in a particular category then the award will not be made
